the guy i bought them from said the rooster was rir. i raised rir from chicks and it has the red color but the copper neck,feathered feet and toes throw me off.i really think its a faverolle x rir cross.just itchin to knowso i can buy me some hens

roosters a mutt. maybe a silkie cross. the hens an old english. idk what kind

i think im gonna let him be a yard bird and buy me a whole new flock of rir or buff orps. cant decide between the two.i wanna sell chicks eventually and pure, healthy bloodlines are what i want.i just bought the rooster (and he gave me the hen) cause the guy sounded like he knew what he was talkin bout. but i couldnt really look the rooster over cause he was in a small cage.lesson learned - Buyin Chickens 101 =examine the bird thoroughly
