thats ow my cuckoo maran looked it had white legs with black but i believe mine had way more barring and people also thought it was a ancona at first too and your welcome for the lauph lol

There are so many that they look like at different stages. I should have asked the lady but I was excited about the white frizzle. Of course she did not frizzle but her leg feathers are coming along great and I do not have a white chicken. How old are they when they get their adult feathers??

Does the dark one have white earlobes? I'm thinking ancona, too. Anconas have light legs, with dark freckles on them. What did she look like as a baby? Yellow, with a bit of black on her back? Possibly a black spot on her head? Did she feather in a lot lighter at first?

She looked like this when I got her. Just has fuller feathers now.

She was in the cage with the white one and I know not to get 1 chick that they need a friend. So I picked one that the lady said was a pullet.

I guess it will have to be a waiting game with her along with several of my younger chicks that were from TSC as assorted bantams.

The black one is definitely not a sussex. I believe it is an ancona also. Very nice birds.

good luck on the ancona as it is not such a popular breed it belongs to the leghorn family of some sort

I have never heard of one until today. I guess it will be cool to see what she looks like grown.
