I am totally new to chicken raising but yet have found myself with 5 of the cutest chicks! I was wondering if anyone could help me out with the type of breed they are? I know the one is a Polish but I wasnt sure if there was specific category she fell under. I was also wondering if anyone could guess the sex? I posted pics yesterday and got 2 responses....I just want to make sure more people agree they are pullets before I get any more attached!

How old are these birds?
Also, another way to get more feedback on an existing thread is simply to reply in your own thread with "bump" to bump that thread back up in the "new post" listings and perhaps get it seen by fresh eyes. It's more beneficial that starting new threads for the same topic because it allows everyone (you and those responding) to follow the entire conversation on whatever the topic is vs. having one line of conversation in the first thread and another in the second. There are some situations/topics in which everyone having the same set of information could be very important.

All but the polish look mixed.

What kind of comb does that first chicken have? It's really red in the face, so I don't want to say female.. The reddish one is a female. The polish - gosh I don't like to guess on crested birds without really close up shots of it's head.

I don't know what colour you'd call that polish. First thought was Tolbunt, but it's not right for Tolbunt. Maybe a pet quality Tolbunt Polish? It does look full Polish to me with a crest that big though.

Oh no...this is my favorite! So sweet and friendly...here are some clos ups..I thought the same thing, much more red...

If it wasn't for that comb, I'd be definitely suggesting pullet. Those legs are skinny, the colour is feminine.. but the comb.. It is so red!

What about these? Any idea on sex? I was told they are polish also.

Too young to sex these ones :)

The reddish bird and the older Polish look like pullets to me, but the other one is a cockerel. It is too young to tell gender with your younger Polish, but in case you were wondering, their varieties are Golden Laced (the darker one) and Buff (the lighter one).

Bump. I have added these new pictures to see what everyone thinks now. Before I had 2 people say pullets and 2 say roos.
