Malay x Silkie sounds interesting, like a giant fluff on stilts. My four TSC silkies last year ended up being roos. I might try again this year.

Whether it's new breeds or hatching your own chicks from the current flock. What will be your chicken math additions?

Well.... I keep having many here trying to get me to allow Marty to hatch out eggs from her and Mr P (I am leery of getting any Roos from that hatching though, it's to hard to get rid of them ).

But - I have 5 Dark Brahma pullets and 5 Bielefelders pullets on order for mid April. I am hoping a couple of my gals are broody by then and will accept the chicks and raise them

I am doubling my flock size.
Currently in the brooder...
6 mystery chicks from hoovers straight run rare breed (none on their list are actually rare at all). Of those 2 have feathered legs and are feathering in buff colored, 2 are chipmunk striped, one is clean legged and feathering in buff, and one has puffy cheeks with green legs and dark chipmunk pattern.
I am hoping at least half are females.

An additional 6 consisting of 4 starlight green layers and 2 saphire blues. These are sexed as pullets.

Well this just happened. But I'd like to eventually find dark brown and vibrant blue layers.
