What are you doing this weekend?

Kentucky Derby!!! I cry every horse race I watch, its so exciting...I read every horse book our small library had by the time I was 9 yrs old and asking for more:) In the end, I got my (now ex) hubby to get into Harleys and he still is. I finally owned two Icelandic Horses for 12 awesome years:) Left work early last night (second job), too excited about the spinning wheel part to fix and told them I'd work tonight but not finish up the next weekend- its warm today though we still have a ton of snow and I'm in a hurry to get a frame built for the green house. Don't have tv right now as a personal choice but if I did, I'd be watching the race, too!

Skip and I went to a local Relay for Life benefit yesterday.

Local bikers did a Poker Run then met up at a friends house to continue to raise money.

Since our Harley is still "down and out" from the wreck back in Feb. we didn't participate in the Run but went to the beneftit. There was a $5.00 cover charge and they also had food for sale, to help raise money.

Money is tight for us right now but my aunt just went through cancer so I felt we needed to go and help out on the good cause. Before we left here, I decided to take a brand new pair of ladies motorcycle chaps that I was keeping as a spare set, and donated them to the auction.

We arrived and it was kinda wierd...everyone already knew who we were because of our February wreck (many replies of "I know you guys, Bob told us about y'all totalled a Lexus (driver ran a red light on us, we never saw it coming and we t-boned the car) and your Sporty will be on the road again...so glad to see ya here and doin' okay!). So we bring up the new pair of chaps that we wanted to donate and I was surprised at all the shocked looks on their faces since we could use the money ourselves but were willing to help someone else out instead. We were given our cover charge back and we tried not to take it but they would't hear of it.

The food was great, as was the music but the best part of all was seeing over 50 people together and not even a disagreement between anyone, let alone a fight. We were also invited to come back anytime and invited to join them on their weekend rides when we get the Sporster fixed. Are we there yet???

Hope everyone else is having a weekend as good as ours!

Dawn

Friday we went to town and got some more wood for the coop. We came home and after being scared that I killed one of my chicks (I really almost did. It was terrible!

), we worked on the coop ALL day long! Sat., we went to my sons ball game and then worked on the coop until 10:00 p.m. Today, we are resting! Shew! It's been a busy weekend!
