College stations are interesting. The one here was classic rock/rock for the longest time then around the 90's switched to alt rock. Some years ago switched format to country and yours plays jazz.

College stations are interesting. The one here was classic rock/rock for the longest time then around the 90's switched to alt rock. Some years ago switched format to country and yours plays jazz.

UNT’s a very well know “College of Music” with a long history and a big jazz dept too. So the station’s been “jazz format” for decades as I recall. From time to time they let the students add different programming like for a few years on the weekends they had a few oddities, a heavy metal 2 hr late night show. For several years they had Sunday mornings as classical…. Etc. And they still have this cool program 10-Noon Sunday and midnight the next Saturday night is the repeat of “Musical Starstreams” the exotic side of the radio…. Forest is the DJ for it. He’s been doing this show for some 40 years now.

Yeah, I enjoy it and try to listen to it as often as I can….
