Gordon Lightfoot also had a great song in " Softly," No matter how often I've heard it, can't make up my mind if he is singing about a deceased girlfriend or just a "former" girlfriend.

Harry Belafonte does the same song, and I'm not sure about that either. But both versions are very, very good.

I'm 72 so I've loved that song for a long, long time even now that I have come over to the Native American side. I love their flute playing - I find it hypnotic.
