Im reading Act like a Lady, Think like a man by Steve Harvey. If your in a relationship or looking for one I highly recommend it. Really showed me that I was doing everything right in my last relationship, he just wasnt interested in continuing it.
Wow for me this is a loaded question.... because I read alot! I read to relax & learn... so here goes...
I am currently reading Jean Auel's Plains of Passage for about the 10th time... rereading the series.... and when it comes to Sci-Fi I also love the Eye of the World Series by the deceased Robert Jordan... both of these authors have a captivating & well written style... I tend to favor authors who have a certain writing style regardless of the type of book. I really enjoy both of these authors although I do not really care for other books of this type...
I am currently also skimming Carla Emery's Encyclopedia of Country Living (refresher & seeing if I want to try my hand at other types of veggies this coming year). Eastern Medicinal & Edible Plants & Eastern Insects both are field guides I am skimming.
Yesterday my wife bought me the latest two books by Bodie Thoene - Tenth Stone & Eleventh Quest - she is a christian based author basing her books on both Jewish Culture & Christ. I really understand my Bible & jewish customs much better after reading her novels... I have all of her Zion & AD Chronicle books & reread them often. I would encourage everyone to read them for greater understanding of Jewish based Christianity. One of my favorite authors....
While at it I will mention a few others that touched me & I reread often.... Charles Martin - When Crickets Cry - I like all of his books but I think When Crickets Cry is his best work - perhaps because Clayton County is only 30 minutes from me & he captures our local color.... Barbara Kingsolver - all of her books are great but I especially like The Poisionwood Bible & more so her Prodigal Summer.... Joyce Carol Oates - We Were the Mulvaneys
As mentioned earlier I read alot! And I read many different types of books - I always have a gardening book of some type open whether a plant ID book or something like square foot gardening... really like older Southern Manuals or Peidmont Gardening or Sleeping with a Sunflower by Louise Riotte I also usually have a field guide open either for wild birds or reptiles or trees & so on...
I enjoy many types of books but am funny about how they are written. I do not care for most of the top 10 or whatever bestsellers because they are not well written or the style isn't full - they are often just words on paper... anyway these are a few I am reading or love.

I like Patterson. He has several different characters - Alex Cross, Womens' Murder Club, and the Maximum Ride series. All are different and interesting in their own way.

Both of these books are on my Shelf of Continuous Reproach. I'm hoping to start them after my current book "Shadow Country" by Peter Matthiessen. It's fairly intense, but really good. The book I'm getting ready to start listening to is "A Spot of Bother" by Mark Haddon. Oh, and various woodworking books, I'm trying to self teach.
