I just finished My Colombian War by Sylvana Paternostro. It's non-fiction, about a Colombian-born, US-educated journalist returning to her homeland to try to understand all the craziness (basically civial war) going on there. I'm ashamed to admit how ignorant I was about that country's history/current situation. What a tragic mess. (I picked up the book because I just finished my first semester of Spanish at the local U, and my professor was a Colombian woman.)

I'm currently reading "The Warrior-Prophet" by R. Scott Bakker. It is Book 2 in the Prince of Nothing series.

I got "The Thousandfold Thought" for Christmas, so I decided to reread the first 2 books in the trilogy, to bring myself back up to speed.

I have the Dresden File Series by Jim Butcher and have been enjoying those, very good.
