We've got an ant nest in our living room and I have one on the windowsill in my bedroom!

You should of seen what I've seen.... My family was temporarily living at this guy's house and he decided to take out a wall to put in sliding glass doors. He cut into the wall, and the floor ended up turning black with ants! There was thousands of ants! Never again do I look at one ant crawling on the counter or a couple on the honey jar again. I think, "Hmm, we start taking out walls, the floor is going to be black with ants!"

But really, ants aren't my fear, TICKS ARE!

My snake aversion comes from a similar place. I was chased by one in the water as a child. Had to swim for it and get snatched up out of the water at the end of the dock just before it got to me. No idea if it was just a harmless water snake or a moccasin, but the lifelong mistrust for all wild snakes was written in stone just the same.
