My order from Meyers of 4 BO, 4 RIR, 4 EE,and 4 BR showed up early and all look healthy and very active. The chicks were due to come in tomorrow to my local PO but the transfer center called me tonite and I drove 30 miles to pick them up didn't want them to be any more stressed than need be. Got them home and into the brooder they are drinking and eating up a storm. Running around checking things out doing little sprints across the 6ft long brooder will post some pics tomorrow. Little Fuzz-butts are very cute!! Will get some better shots tonite

Me? I wanted to wait until after April 1st because the minimum order drops from 25 to 15. Bantams and large fowl are counted separately, and I didn't get a full 25 large fowl to meet the minimum.

I tried to do that and only ordered 15 for the end of April. Couldn't wait so cancelled that order and placed one for 25 so they'd ship right away.

Ordered 50 from Murray McMurray Hatchery. Got 56 Buff Orpingtons and one extra stranger. Great first chicken experience so far. Keeping my fingers crossed things continue to go so well.

Makes me happy to hear other good McMurray stories! I really think this was a fluke, and USPS issue more than the hatchery. I just had another little weak one, gave her some sugar water and before she wouldnt even stand, she is up on her legs. She didn't eat anything, but after the water, she had a bowel movement. I'm worried about her over night, but I'm hoping that she can bounce back.

I ordered from ideal and already got 50 silver sebright bantams and have another order of 50 shipping out the 26th of March. Here is one almost a week old.

LOL! She really would be the lucky one considering her other roomies didn't fair well at this point! I told my husband when I walked out with the sugar water that I truly didn't think she would drink it and I was losing her....and then she surprised me! ! I mean SO much so! She was standing on her legs, wobbly, but she was standing, and the others flocked around her and had to check out what special treat she was getting and she actually didn't fall over like I thought she would. I think before i head to bed, I will go in one more time and offer her some more and see if she will eat some! I'm so hopeful for her! It's been SUCH a long day. I told my husband I feel so drained. hahahaha He told be I fretted to much over them but I just felt so helpless with some of these, and that really was hard on me. I guess I gotta toughen up to be a chick momma! lol

I know right!!!! I have googled all day long. Posted all over here. I have many pasty bums and trying to figure out if there is anything that should feed them to help with it, or if I need to just leave them alone cause many say its due to stress, and when they arrived it was obvious there was stress. The difference with this one little ones Im helping, as I was helping her, she started to get feisty and wanted put back! I got very excited when that happened cause I was like she has her spunk back! hahahahaha Before she lost it and the other chicks I mean they would just trample her and she was weak and wouldn't even get up or chirp to get them off. I really feel good about her now. Gonna make my last rounds, and rest! I will be watching for your 5 babes in that AM! Night!
