I think the one that has the little light spot on the top of its head may be your barred rock?? From all the reading and looking I have done at these, that is what I have found. lol But! my guess is as good as yours till those feathers come in! LOL

Hello! This is my third year raising chickens. It has been an absolute treat--I never knew how much joy chicken keeping would bring to my life! This website has taught me so much since I joined, including introducing new breeds to me! With that in mind, I've been keeping a list since last year of all the breeds I see on here that I'd like to be able to add to my flock.

I placed an order from Ideal poultry, and my order is set to ship out on march 26th. The breeds I ordered are:

6 assorted silkies
5 assorted Cochin bantams
4 Mille fleur D' Uccles
3 white frizzle Cochin bantams
1 blue Swedish duck

Chick time is my favorite time of the year! I don't know what it is about baby chicks that gets to me, but I'm so blessed to be able to raise such beauties from a young age! There really isn't anything like it!

Don't know if this counts or not, but I'm going to pick up 4 Golden Comet laying hens on Monday if all goes well.

I ordered from chickensforbackyard.com and my shipment of 3 Golden Comets and 2 Welsh Harlequins are also due to ship out on the 26th. I'm so excited and can't wait

I just got off the phone with Meyer. I couldn't remember if I had chosen Express or Priority for shipping and I was concerned because it is supposed to be rather cold when they are due to ship on Monday. The woman said I had chosen Express shipping. She also said that my ducklings are in processing right now!!!!

I didn't realize that they come from a different facility!! Does anyone know where the facility is located?

She said they had not been assigned a tracking number yet but I would be notified when a tracking number is assigned. So I guess they will ship out tonight and I could potentially receive them tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon or Friday morning!!!! I am so so so excited!!!!

Awesome, but the title of the thread said shipping, and I'm not having them shipped. I found someone local here. With 500 of them for sale for eight bucks each, already laying.
Think I'm going to set up a separate pen for some coturnixs too.

Scratch that.... I just asked them where the ducklings would be coming from and if they will indeed ship tonight. She said they will be coming from California and that it is showing them as in process because it allows them to lock in the duckling side of my order because they have them set aside to hatch in the number I requested. She said that they are still due to hatch on the 17th and I will receive them sometime between the 18th and the 20th. So I guess now I have to hurry up and wait for this week to end so I can get 2 tracking numbers and 2 boxes!
