He just came home from work for a second and I spilled the beans! Lol. His response was "you are going to end up with 40 here pretty soon!!" and "I better get back to work so we have the money to build the coop and feed them"!! Haha!

I wish I had words of wisdom for you and your four week olds!! I have no idea what we are going to do when ours get to that point (especially If I keep adding more on!). Could they be outside in the smaller coop during the day and then back in at night? I don't know how warm it is in Arizona right now. Here it is still cool during the days and cold at night.

No idea when to expect them yet, but I have silkies, easter egger bantams, Dominique bantams, and buff orpington bantams ordered. Minimum order without a fee was 25, so I have 7 silkies and 6 of each of the others ordered. The coop we are working on will fit about 8 standard size or 15 of the bantam sized and our goal is to get 8-9 hens out of this bunch. (But there's already been talk that we maybe should just get started on a second coop!)

Hope ya'll have better luck with PO then I did. My birds were misshipped, late, and all 19 were DOA.

Do it. I do that all the time to my wife. She doesn't look into these sights policies.

I was honest with my husband when I added the Wellies to my order last week, and he was okay with it, "as long as this is it". If we give our hens the amount of room that I'd like to in the coop, then there is only room for one more hen. So I guess I'm done adding.










Except for that one, of course.

Did it happen to go through the Hazelwood MO sorting facility ? I live in IL and it seems that anything fragile and remotely alive gets killed by that place..they lost chicks of mine...broke countless shipment of eggs...I live 500 miles from there and the PO i got to is in a town of 700 when i have had to make claims my local had asked me if it went through there..I think they employ monkeys..I got two shipment of eggs yeaterday both from the west..one nothing was broken..the second traveled through Hazelwood, I had thought i just lost..4 maybe 6 .. 2 were cracked but maybe fixable...candled when I put them in the incubator 6 more are cracked so out of 16 eggs i have 6 good ones....the only things I ever get damaged got thru there..

I just received my 9 BLRW from Ohio to California. They went USPS then FedEx then USPS again. They were all fine. Thank goodness. I don't know if I could recover from seeing them all DOA.
