Woohoo!! Just got a call from Ideal saying my toulouse and buff geese will ship next week instead of June 4th!!!
My Cayuga ducklings arrived safe and sound last Wednesday from McMurrary Hatchery. Six girls and 1 boy. One of the girls has a smaller head and wry neck. She is healthy though and adventurous. She's was the first one to try out the fresh, tiny cut up greens snack. I noticed the bunch also follows her around. I named her Penny because she reminds me of an Emperor Penguin in the way her head folds down.
Here's a photo of them about 1 week old.
At the end of May, I have a bunch of chicks arriving from McMurrary Hatchery.

Big shipping day! I have my tracking number too!!! And I'm already contacting a silkie breeder to add one to my flock of 8 hehe
Congrats chick mama! It's so exciting to get your first chicks as well as your first hatchery chicks. I received my first hatchery order from Cackle at the end of last month. They all arrived very safely and with zero health issues. I am very pleased by how Cackle shipped and delivered my chicks. Even my extra chick made it. I have had minimal issues with them except for a few cases of Pasty Butt but with a little Apple Cider Vinegar and some daily butt cleans, that cleared up after a few days. Make sure you have some ACV on hand! Give them some pro-biotic for the first day then for the next two weeks mix their water with ACV and you should be okay. Keep an eye out for chicks with Pasty Butt and clear it up right away! I hope it doesn't happen to you but if it does all of us a BYC are here for advice!Today is the day!!!
I am so bursting at the seams waiting for that tracking number from Cackle telling me my chicks have shipped.![]()
I'm going to be nuts by the time they do arrive.
Everything is ready from the brooder to the emergency kit I just don't have the chick's!
