What are your Spring 2021 hatching plans?

That is awful, hopefully one day you score a few they're really fun birds.
My first ones were MPC eggs, still have one of them Lulu.:)

I tried and tried to get Faverolles from My Pet Chicken and it never worked out for me. :hit

Its not a very good idea to hatch just one duckling imo. They need brothers and sisters to grow up together.
Oh that's a shame, I was hoping one would be ok with mum duck, we dont have room for lots of ducks. I dont expect her to sit on any to be honest, apparently they are not good at it so it's just wishful thinking any way x

I'm in the process of putting my place on the market and moving to a much smaller, single story house. No more stairs for these old knees!
So, sadly, no chickens this year. Maybe the following year if the move next summer goes well. I lost my favorite hen to old age this December, she died peacefully in her sleep on her roost. I came out the next morning and found her with her head hanging unnaturally down but other than that she simply looked asleep. The rest of the flock didn't even seem to realize she was dead and just trooped out for breakfast. I have a good friend who'll give my aging flock a great home when I move, can't keep them since for several months I will, if the plan all works out, be living in an RV until the new place is finished remodeling. Then it will be coop building time!

I just hatched 5 chicks that are a mixture of an americana rooster and a heritage Buff Orpington. Two are also a mix of mixed Leghorn/americana hen and Leghorn/americana rooster. Can already tell by behavior that there are at least 2 roosters. I already have 4 roosters and not enough hens, so they will need to be re-homed. Since I raised chicks last spring and recently, I will most likely take a break in the spring.
