What bantam breeds don't have an extreme angle to their wings?

I like the idea of getting some bantams at some point, but I really don't like the look of the breeds that have been bred to have an extreme wing angle, like OEGs and Seramas. I'd like to get some that have a slightly more natural posture, like standard size chickens have. Does anyone have any idea of some breeds I might like? I think I've seen some bantam white Plymouth rocks and Faverolles that had a more natural wing and back angle.

Any other suggestions? If I have to, I can look up the standards for every bantam breed there is, but I think that would take a long time to track all that information down online, at individual club web sites. I'm not even sure all of the standards are available online. Anyway, if anyone can help me, I would really appreciate it!

Think of a large fowl you like the looks of, and there is probably a bantam equivalent. RIR, Buckeye, Plymouth Rocks, wyandots, ..........Go to a big show and look, that is a real eye opener! And don't be in a hurry. Also look through the pictures at a hatchery or at feathersite.com and you can get a good idea.

I agree about the Seramas and that funky posture, but I saw one in Backyard Poultry magazine - a portrait of a white serama rooster - that almost made me change my mind. What a beauty that little bird was!!

I'm getting OEGs myself. They look normal to me, but then I know lots of people who don't think I'm quite normal, so. . . .

But don't hurry yourself too much, Woodlandwoman! It's kinda fun to shop for chickens. Check out all the beautiful colors and shapes and varieties there are, and you don't have to sit at a computer.

Look at amazon.com for some books. Poultry of the World is huge, beautiful and fascinating. And try to go to at least one poultry show or state fair to look and ask questions. You'll have a great time! Especially if you go to a fair where they deep fry stuff like twinkies and coke.

You've all had great suggestions. Thank you so much! I think there are some fall shows coming up. Until then, I'll check out the web sites you've suggested. Thanks again for the help!

Possumqueen, my husband works with a woman that drives a very long way, just to get to a fair for bacon dipped in chocolate.
