this is my first year showing chickens and i need a bantam.

I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions on what type of bantam breed that would work best for show? ~thankyou

I know Japanese are very popular and plentiful, they are also easily handled. I've enjoyed mine immensely for temperament alone, even though I don't plan on showing.

Dutch Bantams are super cute, with huge personalities. They would be a great show-bird, the only problem is their broodiness. Mine lays eight eggs and then wants to hatch. Otherwise, they are friendly, great for kids, and really funny!

Silkies!! These birds have SO much personality, with their fur-like feathers, they are almost always the star of the show! Also, the birds are VERY easy to care for and (generally) super sweet and docile! You can also get a naked- neck silkie (show girls) because, wow do they call attention!! Good luck!

I just googled naked neck silkies. They are so funny looking, I love them! They look like they are a fluff ball with pom pom hat. :lau

Unless you trim around the eyes, silkies can be predator targets because they cannot see. They can be like any other chicken with trimming around the eyes, and still be cute as a button!
