What brand incubator do you guys recommend?

I purchased the preset Hova, and had great results. It has the large picture window, and I also got the auto turner to go in it.

It really was a no-brainer. The only thing I had to watch carefully was the humidity, and keep the troughs filled as directed. The large window is really nice when the hatching starts!

Do you have the chicken egg tray? That holds 20 but if you have then universal tray it holds less eggs and I don't like the way the eggs touch each other when they turn. But I really like the one made for the chicken eggs. Mine holds temps great and the humidity is right on too. Only thing I wish it had was a off button for the music when the turner rolls the eggs. I had it in the guest room and I slept in there one night and it woke me up every hour on the hour. I now have it in the computer room so you don't notice the music that much.

Skip just bought me the Hova-Bator Circulated Air Model with the Picture Window and Egg Turner. I'm doing my first trial run with 6 eggs from our girls. I really like it so far. Love the big window as it is easier to read the thermometer/hygrometer.

I was surprised/shocked when he asked me which Bator I wanted (really wanted to build my own), then he brought up looking for hatching eggs for the Red Golden Pheasants he wants.

It kinda helped when he found out that I'd be turning eggs manually, with a homemade bator, atleast 3 times a day for 18 days he told me to order the Hova with turner so incubating doesn't cut into our Sunday Scooter rides.

You cant see well when the chicks hatch, so Im going to use my little giant for a hatcher (that is the only down side of the brinsea.) Good luck.

No, I just have the universal tray. It doesn't matter that much that it doesn't quite hold 20, as it has a good hatch rate and I don't need any more than that to incubate at a time, but they do rub against each other when they turn and I take the dividers out for hatching. I guess it's no worse for the eggs than being in a nest though.

Preset Hovabator for me.....works great and most of the poor hatches were due to MY errors....temps with Flukers thermo is great too! None of the wafer kind incubators for me!

Ewesheep,
Does everything you need come with the Preset Hovabator or will I need to buy more to have a complete set up?
Thanks,
Gayle

I had to buy the package deal...well worth the money and less hassle buying them separate. If you want to buy without the egg turner, you can. I got the electronic thermostat and fan with it. There is NO wafer in that kind of preset Hovabator.

Double R's has them...bought two Hovabators from them. Good people to deal with them. They sometimes have them on Eggbid.
