Figured I would post the adults and see what kind they are and ask how they look to you folks. They seem good and healthy to me, I get 3-4 eggs a day out of these 4 gals. ( dont know why blackies eye looks like that in the pic.)
Blackie, I think she is a barred rock?

Red, I think she is a RIR?

The dark tan one, no idea what she is.

The light tan one, no idea.

Her eye looks like that because she's blinking. Birds don't blink like people do, they have "third" eyelid which is a transparent membrane. Just bad timing with the photo!

I'm not too good with the standard fowls, but the first is definently a barred rock, the second I would vote RIR. The 3 and 4 I couldn't say.

Oh, sorry I should have been able to come up with that.
Thanks for the quick reply.

Agree a MILLION PERCENT. They all are "hatchery quality" birds. Not for show but for eggs and meat. The Production Red and Sex Links are fine looking birds but not of any "show quality". Do not be discouraged though, I have all hatchery heavy breeds and love them dearly. My Golden Comets from Cackle are wondeful eggers and very sweet girls. My Production Red rooster from Cackle also is very friendly and grew to a giant eleven pounds. I love hatchery birds. I even have a EE that looks like you PR hen but with blue legs! They look very happy and healthy....ENJOY!
