What breed am I... (new photo at the end)

I had thought that my hen was a black giant or maybe an black australorps, but some think she is a black sex-link... What defines the difference between them?

Here she is again.

This is her as a chick last year:

I would say she's either an Australorp or Jersey giant like you were saying, but I don't know what the difference is. Black sex-links have gold on their hackles and breast though.

Australorps have white feet on the bottom.

Giants have yellow feet.

A sexlink would have lots of red in the neck area.

Her feet look blackish to me... with white toes, so I guess that would be Australorps? Is that right? She just doesn't look as filled out as the pics on MM.

Not a sex-link. Could be a black rock or a jersey mix.

She doesn't look big enough to be a Giant (but I could be wrong, I know they mature slowly). I'd guess she's Australorp.

The picture of her as a chick look just like the two week-old Australorp peeps in my brooder.

eta: I hope they grow up to be as pretty as she is!

I have a BSL that looks a lot like her, but mine has just the tint of red on her breast so you probably have a small Australorp.

You definitely have an Australorp. They do mature slowly, give her time. There is an Australorp bantam too, didn't know that. 2 of 13 I have coming are Aussies.
