Could you get pictures of each individual chicken in brighter lighting?
I ordered 15 chicks at the beginning of july( all
Hens, BRs and RIRs) there are 2 chickens (1 RIR and 1 BR) that have large combs, they look like roosters but I was keeping my fingers crossed that they were just growing faster than my other girls... If they have large combs and are bigger than my other girls, should I assume that they are Roos? Ps they are about 3 months old, when would/should they start crowing?
Thank you, these 'mystery chickens' do seem to have different feather patterns, the RIR is starting to get some green and blueish feathers, and the BR is a lighter grey and white vs my pullers black and white coloringIt depends but most roosters will crow at 5 months. The comb size, redness, feather patterns, and saddle feathers can help determine if a chicken is a rooster.
