What breed and gender is our chick?

It loves high places, and to sleep on my head while we watch tv can’t wait to know if it’s a hen or roo

It's a cockerel. Not sure on breed. Maybe some type of Easter egger.

We got dna results today, we got a Hans .

Dad is a black copper marans/ silkie hybrid, mom is a black pekin (cochin) bantam.

Almost 7 weeks. He still has a “bun”

0 wattles yet, waiting for them to grow, he will be so cute

We noticed that the new feathers in his sides and bottom are like soft and hairy, but on his back top, chest, neck and wings are normal feathers.

Will he molt this fluffy feathers? or will he stay half-half with a normal feathered upper body & a silky fluffy lower body?

Hans just sang for the first time, and it was the CUTEST thing ever still no wattles though

8 weeks update! he looks mean but is still a sweetie, except to the dog

Today he sang the “egg” song do roosters sing the egg song too? It was exactly what the other hens sing when they lay.

For context, a cat got too close to the hens and the dog barked at it. The other hens were unfazed as they are used to the dog scaring away the strays that come too close, but he started doing the egg laying song

Yes, roosters make that song. Often they initiate it and get everyone else going.
