I have chicks that are approximately 5 weeks old. I am not sure of the breed or gender of a particular chick. These are my first chicks ever. I purchased 10 baby chicks from a local feed store. They are supposed to be pullets. Could anyone help with what breed and if this particular chick is a pulled or roo?

It looks like a pullet so far and looks to me like a buff orpington

X 3 on the Buff Orpington, I️ own 2 and they looked exactly like yours. Both ended up as hens and yours looks like a pullet😉

Thanks for the breed distinction. I’m keeping my fingers crossed, it’s a pulley. She is the sweetest and falls asleep in my arms.

She is definitely the sweetest baby.

You’ve got a Barred Rock and a Buff Orpington. I also have 5-week old pullets of both of those breeds that look exactly like yours!

My Barred Rock is the head hen and is adventurous and independent but still sweet. My Buff Orpington is already like a lap dog. Totally docile and loves to just hang out by me.
