What breed and gender's are my youngsters?

They must be around 15 weeks + now, all very similar sizes however a few have the silkie/polish top on their head. Some of the chickens have black combs, these are the ones i am mainly struggling to tell the sex of.

I think I see 5, possibly as many as 7, roos in the last picture. Can you get some individual photos? Straight side on pics would be best. I see lots of pointy hackle (neck) and saddle (right in front of the tail) feathers.

they look a lot like my EE roo...
same coloring and the combs look like pea combs...hard to see them

Thankyou for your posts, i know for certain i have 2 females, however how do i tell their sex if their comb is a deep red? almost purple colour? Also should female hens be growing combs by now?

You can check their hackle (neck) feathers and saddle feathers (right in front of the tail). In females, these will be shorter and rounded on the ends. In males, these feathers will be longer, skinnier, and end in a point (most breeds anyways). With young cockerels, you might have to look at the feathers that are just starting to come in under their juvenile feathers to see them. Roos that have a red coloration will typically have a more intense red color than the hens will.
