What breed and pullet or roo?

hi everyone! So I recently bought some chicks locally that were straight run hatchery choice, so trying to confirm breeds and also sex. They are 5/6weeks old. I think the white ones may be Colombian Wyandotte, the blacks probably black astrolopes and the barred either barred rocks or cuckoo marans- I have never raised any of these breeds so Amy ideas appreciated! Also trying to guess sex and hoping to have at least 50% pullets!

All of the barred chicks are dominiques.

Chick 2 appears to be lighter than Chicks 1,3,and 4 and appears to have the most reddening in the comb, so that is pointing more towards a cockerel, (Barred breeds are usually sex-linked. Darker=Female, Lighter=male) but it could be a trick of the light, because Chicks 1 and 4 also have slightly reddening combs (so it could also just be the breed). Out of them, Chick 2 is probably a cockerel, 1 and 4 are on the fence, and 3 has no reddening whatsoever and also very dark. 90% that she is a female. In the second group, 5 and 6 have reddening combs, while the combs on 7 and 8 are practically non-existent. I'm guessing 5 and 6 are cockerels, 7 and 8 are females.
This is just what I'm seeing, and people who have more experience with those breeds could probably be more accurate. However, anywhere in the lines of 3-5 from each sex (out of 8) fall into the approximate 50/50 category you would expect from straight-run.

Chick 1-4 look like Dominiques (if they were Barred Rocks or Marans they would have straight combs, but they have rose combs). The redness of the comb in the first 4 at such an early age makes me lean towards cockerel for all except chick 3. Chick 5 and 6 do appear to be Australorps, again not sure on gender but leaning towards cockerels due to so much wattle/comb growth at such a young age. I think you are correct about chicks 7 and 8's breed and so far I would say they have no signs of being cockerels. They are still young so there appearances could still change drastically. Keep us updated!

You should know for sure when they start growing their adult feathers 2-4 months old. Roos will have pointy saddle and hackle feathers along with 'curly' tails, and hens won't. Also, in the coming weeks, you should notice a substantial size and shape difference between the girls and boys. Girls are smaller and more block-ish, Boys are larger and more lanky (Until they're adults that is!).
