What breed and sex is my bantam chick?

I got this egg for free from a local breeder. His bantams were sectioned off by type and color. I can't remember what breeds he had.

This chick hatched on July 18th. It's my daughter's 3 year old birthday chick--it hatched one day early instead of right on her birthday but she was still thrilled. We named him (?) Cracker Jack!

I just realized I don't have a good picture of the tail feathers--the tail goes straight up and has all rounded feathers, nothing droopy or curly like a rooster. It has a pretty long (tall) tail! I'm thinking it might be a roo though, because of the red comb and little red wattles starting. This is the first bantam we've ever had, so I'm not sure how fast they develop. It feathered out very fast.

I think it is a Serama rooster.

Don't know what he is, but he is adorable.

Bantams are just so personable.

He really is very sweet! He's a house chick because he's so small he can walk right through the chain link fence out there. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with him because all the other birds are so much bigger.

He will find a couple girls who like him - don't worry!

I have three bantam roos - two rosecombs and one RIR. My rosecombs moved themselves into the Standard house - one day after meeting the big girls. Went out to lock everyone up, and the boys had flown the bantam coop and put themselves to be in the big girls coop.

They both still "love" me and I make sure that there is no courting of the hens when I am around.

I hope our little guy stays that friendly once hormones hit!!

Anyone one else have any guesses as to what he might be? I tried googling Seramas but I can't find any that are his coloring. He's all buff, no other colors.

Looks like a Japanese but I don't know if they come in solid buff. I do know they come in black tail buff....

Do they maybe grow in the black tails as they get older? I thought it kind of looked like one of those too, but the all buff thing threw me off.

He reminded me of a serama or japanese. The serama could be any color which would explain the tail not being black.
