What breed and what disease?

She's starting to look much better! Luckily, once through quarantine, none of my ladies started picking on her, and we don't own any roosters. She lays huge eggs, albeit infrequently.

Funny enough, a couple of my other girls started molting within a couple days of her arrival!

She looks so much better now, I can't believe she's the same bird! She's almost 100% now and has no noticeable bald patches. She has earned the name Baldy, though, lol!

That's it! She's definitely a Welsummer. Great hens -Good layers of large eggs, friendly independent foragers that do well in all climates, and are somewhat hard to come by.

If you Google them you will recognize the darker coloring just around the ears, eyes, and wattles; The streaks in the golden like feathering around her neck; The brown feathers on tbe breast are lighter in color compared to the back & tail feathers. They are very distinctive in breed.

...if they happen to have chicks; the ones that look like they have a streak of eyeliner are female.

We have one, and just love her (we love all our girls).

Congrats! And great job bringing her back around.

Thank you, Missbecky, for identifying our hen! She definitely fits that description! Now that she has feathers, I see how beautiful they are, with those gold streaks in the center!
