What breed are my chickens! :)

I was given these chickens from a friend and i want to know what breed there are?!

From what I can see the second one looks like a silver laced... Have u got any clearer pictures?

The first one looks like an Australorp (or maybe a Black Star, check for any gold/red feathers on her neck or breast). The second one looks like a Barred Rock cross. And the third looks like a Rhode Island Red cross. They're all girls!

She may be a purebred Barred Rock, a better picture of her chest would help. For a purebred I would expect her barring to be darker, crisper, and wider stripes, even for hatchery stock. This is why I think she's a cross.

Hatchery grade birds.

One is hard to tell, but just from the photo, likely a Australorp.
Two is a Barred Rock cross or poorly bred, hatchery grade Barred Rock
Three is a red, a hatchery production type red.


None of this matters, as far as their health, your enjoyment and their productivity. Enjoy them.

Yeah, I definitely say a cross, not a purebred. I'm also noticing that she has a lot of silver on and around her face, which a purebred wouldn't have. Check out these pics of purebred Barred Rocks for comparison: http://www.google.com/search?q=barr...&ei=OJHCUKS9CKPbyAGG84G4AQ&sqi=2&ved=0CDEQsAQ

But there's nothing wrong with crossbreds. In fact I've noticed my hybrids to be noticably hardier than my purebreds. I love mixes, nearly all of my chickens are hybrids of some sort that I hatched myself. And Barred Rocks are one of my favorite breeds too.
