What breed are these two chicks?

Hello everyone of BYC!

So time traveling back to a week ago and going to my local hatchery I got 4 baby chicks all of different breeds, barred rock, black sex link, phoenix chicken and last but not least a buff orpington. But I’ve been second guessing on two of my baby chicks because they look nothing like a phoenix or a buff orpington. I’m pretty sure the worker mixed up the signs for the babies.

Nugget - supposed to be buff orpington

Hennessy - supposed to be phoenix

I think the chicks are a buff Orpington and a Phoenix. I could say maybe the Phoenix is a Welsummer. Maybe wait a few weeks to see their feathering.

Hennessy isn't a Phoenix. Wrong kind of comb and wrong shank color.

Yes, I’ve noticed that her tail and her wing feathers are turning a shade of white.

But my local hatchery sells a hand full of breeds and a red sex link isn’t one of them.

It could be under a different name. Golden Comet, Red Star, Cinnamon Queen, Golden Buff, and ISA brown are a few names Red Sex Links are sold under.

Checked the website, they sell RSLs as ISA Browns and Golden Comets. Nugget could be either one of those.
