What breed are they?

My fiancé and I adopted 12 chickens from a friend of ours that had recently passed away. There are a few hens, possibly one rooster that I am having a hard time identifying! I only got 2 good pictures of the 2 out of 5 hens that I'm having a hard time with their breed. I feel like this chicken is a rooster! He's huge!! Have not yet heard an crowing but yesterday my fiancé said he heard a crow but couldn't tell which chicken made the noise. So is this a hen or rooster? And what's the breed?

With due respect the top bird is not a Light Sussex with that funky comb and feathered legs. It's a Light Brahma or Light Brahma mixed breed. The bottom bird is an Easter Egger pullet rather than a true Ameraucana.

ditto on Michael's post. Brahma's are a giant breed, that's why she's so large. They often lay a rosy/pinkish light brown egg.

The Easter egger in the second pic may give you blue or green eggs.

Agreed. Top is a light Brahma (hatchery quality) and bottom is an Easter egger, not a true ameraucana.

I do get blue/green eggs....just didn't know who I was getting them from!
