What Breed are we?

The eye stripe. Sometimes it is hard to tell the difference, but 2 definite stripes usually means rouen. A faint bottom stripe or more of a dot usually means mallard.

Here is my rouen at 3 days....

Nettie is right about store bought ducks. You aren't going to get mutts or rare breeds. Look to see what breeds are offered at the major hatcheries and see if you can find some matching pics. I know my Big R orders from Privett.

I think we have a mallard here, but I'm still courious about the yellow ducking. Maybe she/he will be a "wait and see" and that will be fun as well! Here is another pic, but I'm think a welsh.

Is that considered a rare breed? Does TSC sometimes get them. This year at our TSC they had pekins, cayugas, rouens?, mallards?, Khakis, some crested ducks, and some I'm not sure of (as you can see).

I think you have a fawn and white runner duck, and a mallard.

Rouens have two eye stripes and mallards have one with a dot where their ear is.

Fawn and whites have what appears to be 'smudges' around their eyes and wing areas.
Seems to be pretty unlikely, but it may be a buff as well?
