These two were part of McMurray Hatchery "rainbow layer" chicks from earlier this year, with bonus "exotic" chick. I have identified all the other breeds (white leghorn, brown leghorn, red leghorn, dark cornish, partridge rock, minorca, dominique, buff orp, light brahma) except for these. My suspicion is white splash rock, but I'm just not sure because McMurray has a "white rock" but no "white splash rock", nor do they have any splash anythings. They both have single comb and are standard size. They are 19 weeks old.

ALSO, I'm assuming cockerel/pullet based on combs, but the "cockerel" is not showing any hackle or saddle feathers, only pronounced comb/wattles and a start of spur buds. (Also, when I thought he was a she, he was in with three adult roosters and got scalped, which now makes sense if he is a cockerel, and which is also why his head feathers are messed up now.) So here they are:

Cockerel:

Pullet:

Thanks for any help!

I'm afraid I can't help with the breed, but with the difference in combs/wattles, I'm quite sure you are right in assuming the first is a cockerel and the second is a pullet.

I'm inexperienced, but they certainly don't look anything like White Rocks to me...the pullet definitely looks different.

I agree first is roo and 2nd pullet.

As to breed...they aren't heavy enough or built like a Rock...I'm thinking more elegant than that and gamey-er....my guess would be Splash Andalusian. If so, both their combs will grow substantially.

They also might simply be a factory mix.

What color are their earlobes? I can't tell from the pic.

They look like splash Andalusians to me. If they have white earlobes, we can confirm that's their breed.

x2 I think I see a white ear lobe on them
X3

Definatley not a white rock heres two of mine (not from a hatchery they are SQ, hatchery of courseare going to be lower quality)

And there is not such thing as a white splash rock. there are White rocks and Splash rocks. I personally have never seen a splash rock but I have seen blue so that means that there has got to be some splash out there some where.

Now that I've looked at a few pictures, I agree with the previous posters. 99% sure splash Andalusian.

They don't have any resemblance to any sort of Rock.
