What breed could he be?

Hello everyone! I'm new here although I've been reading here & there for a couple years. I have a rooster that was supposed to be a "Midnight Majesty Maran" pullet. (I got him from a farm store this spring, not sure which hatchery) He is clearly a he, crow and all, but he doesn't have the barring I think the males are supposed to have? He has shiny black/blue/purple feathers and feathered legs.

Any help would be appreciated. He's a very sweet docile gentleman thus far, but I'm not sure if he's breeding material? I've never hatched my own chicks but was thinking of trying in spring.

Midnight Majesty Marans are from Hoover Hatchery, so it has to be one of their breeds. They don't list Langhans, so it probably is a poor quality black Cochin. If he isn't aggressive then I would consider keeping him. A good rooster can be tough to find.

He looks like a Langshan
Same, I agree.
Just searched them up for comparison. Just not the best quality, but good leg feathering.

I'm thinking about getting some.

This is a hatchery-grade Langshan:

Granted, Ideal is probably closer to SOP than Hoovers, but, IMO, the extra-fluffy feet probably indicates Cochin since Langshans are supposed to have sparse leg feathering rather than luxuriant feathering. :)

There's lots out there with large amounts of leg feathering. The bird in question has too much of swoop in the tail for a Cochin.

I double-checked the hatchery search that @JedJackson did.

Hoovers, that supplies the Midnight Majesty Marans was trying to buy, doesn't carry Langshans.

So it pretty much has to be a Cochin based on that.
But not all TSC use the same suppliers, some use a few different hatcheries rather than one.

Japanese Bantams aren't listed in Hoover's Hatchery bantam assortment, but are shown in the picture.
