Oh gosh, yes, too many breeds to choose from! But if I had to pick only one, it would be the Black Australorp! They are super hardy birds in any weather, they are healthy over all, great layers, very docile and friendly and mine are a bunch of lap loving babies! Can't sit anywhere without one begging to sit on your lap. Ha!

Hey there and welcome to BYC! My favorite out of all the breeds. that is tough... I would have to say Copper Maran and Rhode Island Red because both are very lovable and lay very nice eggs! Especially my huge Rhode Island Red who as much as he wants to be a lap chicken he cant jump up lol!
