What breed for me?

So I`m looking to start doing Chickens for 4H.(it would be my second pair of chickens, first year of 4H) I am looking for an egg layer with a nice, tamable personality (I had a Rhode Island Red that I raised and she was very sweet.) But I`m looking for a bantam or a standard breed on the smaller size. Any ideas?
