Coop is done and the chicks are 10 weeks old. Out of the ten we've had since they were one week old, we have identified one rooster so far. We love him and hope he works out. There are two we are curious about, not sure what breed or gender at this point. The white one is Zelda and the other is Waffles. They both have very small flesh colored little combs. Waffles is a riot. My daughter painted the ceiling of the coop blue with clouds and a sun and when Waffles visited for the first time, she stood on the poop board, looked up at the sky and tried to fly up into it. Poor thing, she banged her head on the ceiling and fell to the floor. Thankfully not hurt, well, maybe just her pride a little. The pic of Waffles was taken before we finished covering the insulation on the side wall (it's all done now). Any help identifying what they are would be appreciated.

Did you get them from a breeder or just someone who had barnyard mixes? Waffle has some markings that resemble my baby, her father was a barred rock and her mom was a red star.

My daughter hand picked the ten from a farm in Amherst, NH, where there were quite a mix of breeds, so I guess that makes them "mutts". We have one that is definitely Barred Rock. Waffles and two others were said to be Ancona and they looked similar to Ancona chicks but not now.
