What Breed? Hen or Roo??

Hey everyone!
I am new to the page and I will be posting pictures when I get home this afternoon. I recently got a new “hen” she is almost the size of my rooster if not bigger but she has long tail feathers and is all black. Because of her size and feathers we feel like she is a rooster but are not sure. Has any every has a hen with long tail feathers??

Welcome to BYC. I'll give more accurate assessment after pictures, but yes I've quite often seen juvenile pullets with what people think are male tail feathers simply because they haven't molted them yet.

Edit: re-read this and saw you specifically mentioned hen and size...not sounding promising

A lot depends on what you mean by 'long' tail feathers. It will take a picture to give a valid gender identification.

I recently brought home another rooster and my old rooster chases him around and doesn’t let him in the coop at night but this “hen” roost next to our old rooster and eats with them without any fuss is why I question “her” being a “him”

I hope so! She is so large and pretty I hope she is a hen.
