What Breed is Hamilton?

They were supposed to be Lavender Orpingtons.

He is gorgeous!

Agree there may be Lav diluting that red.. what I plan to do to make Isabella or Porcelain.. laced Wyandotte with.

Obviously something barred or cuckoo and straight combed, clean shanks. It's been so long, maybe pointless to try and contact the seller and see what other birds they had on hand were. Photos of the others that hatched with him MIGHT help give clues as to what the other possibilities are.

I don't think pure Orp with mixed colors.. mostly because I haven't seen any barred or cuckoo Orp in the US and certainly not 3 years ago... But I am continually amazed at the things I discover and learn!

His chest barring and shape is very much like my Bielefelder. Have you actually weighed him? Thanks for sharing!

I still have his seller's record. I let her know they all hatched but left it there. I can contact her again. Don't have any photos of the other ones. I think that might have been on my phone that crashed. Oh, and he's a big guy, not as big as the Marans though. I can weigh him and let you know.

I looked back on eBay and she had a lot of negative reviews last year. My purchase was Feb 2018. Hamilton is 2 1/2 years not 3 like I thought.
She was selling peacock eggs for hundreds and sending duck eggs. Sending poorly packaged eggs or rotten eggs.... She may not even know what those eggs were. The other three chicks were nothing like Hamilton. I'm very fortunate. Here are 2 of the reviews.
