What breed is Mrs. Whatsit?

    She is not a bantam but does have a small build. She has dark willow or slate legs, white earlobes, single comb, lays a very small light beige egg. Was very flighty at first but now is very friendly. She is currently 6 months old. Very strongly resembles Red Caps but does not have the correct comb at all for that.

    Oh my gawsh, i love her name.
    she is a golden spangled Hamburg

    She looks like a gold spangled hamburg except for the comb.

    The comb is wrong for a Hamburg, but everything else is right. She is a very striking bird perhaps a 'hatchery' bred golden spangled Hamburg.

    Yes we thought that too until we saw that just like the Red Caps the Hamburgs have special combs. We got her name from the book/movie "A Wrinkle in Time"

    Ideal does have GSH, and she has white earlobes, so GSH that happens to have a single comb would get my vote.
