What breed is my chick?

I'm just curious. I got 12 chicks from tractor supply and their was this worker their who new absolutely nothing about chickens. He even told me that. Anyways, I just want ed to know what I got here. I have 3or 4 that look like this. I think they are very pretty but I've never seen them before. Are they mutt chickens?

Probably a "Production Red" which is a hatchery made cross.

Does that mean they lay a lot of eggs?

TSC sells a lot of "mutts" and their production reds are crosses of a bunch of different types of red birds including rhode islands - typically they are a good size bird and good layers.
