What breed is my chicken?

Back in June we discovered this little lady had taken up residence under our deck so we adopted her. I did not realize how addictive a chicken would be as well as how attached we have become. Can someone please help me figure out what breed she is?

She looks like a game cross, does she have any flock mates currently?

She showed up at our house back in June so I have no information on her flock mates.

Do you have other chickens to keep her company? Most TSC have chicks this year still. Without at least one other chicken to keep her company, she will most likely become depressed and die.

Also, how old would you estimate her to be, is she laying?

Well we just finished building a coop, which she hates since she of course was free range when we found her, so I want to get a couple more hens to keep her company as soon as possible. Thank you for telling me that. I try to spend tons of time with her throughout the day but I know that is not the same thing as a fellow chicken

Yes she laid every day for about a month, and now she is moulting and no longer laying.

Also if I go to TSC to get some chicks since they are younger then her will she bully them? I saw some pullets there the other day so they are at least a little older.

You might be better off getting pullets, yes. You could brood chicks in the coop, your user ID says your in the south right? It really depends on the bird, I've found more domininte birds to actually be kinder to newcomers, but since you've never seen her interact with other chickens, she very well could be either. I've also found all chickens don't like little chicks for some reason, unless of course, they are a mom. Good luck finding the right friends for her, I'm only one person, so might be best to ask the rest of BYC what they think.
