I had one that was nearly black as a chick and by the time she grew up was a light amber golden speckled girl. Takes a looong time to tell sex, at least for me. The girl I mentioned is Alexander. Our rooster's name is Phoebe! (wishful thinking)
I have a lovely EE hen named June. There is not a thing wrong with Easter Eggers! I love my EEs and my Ameraucanas. The EEs lay green eggs and the Ameraucanas lay blue to greenish blue.
AH!!! EE = Easter Egger = Mutt! In my newbie-ness I was wondering what all these people saying "EE" were talking about. I guess EE is only a mutt where one parent is an Ameraucana?
