this is my rooster “cowboy”. we got him about 2-3 years ago from a lady who breeds chickens. she didn’t tell us anything about him. still trying to figure out what breed he is. maybe a dorking? 🤔 anyone have any guesses?

His pic looks like shorter legs, but pic could be deceiving.

The coloring looks like a Silver-Grey Dorking, however, might not be pure bc based on APA breed description for Silver-grey as yours differed from standard in these ways:
1. hackles not pure silvery white (yours has black, mottled like feathers in front and down chest).
2. Breast should be lustrous black ( see above note)
3. Tail coverts (the smaller tail feathers closer to the saddle feathers) should be greenish black, edged with silvery white.

4. shanks and toes should be pinkish white . I can’t see them very well in your pic, they look more grey/slate but not sure.

Rooster weight= 9lbs or more.
Comb: single, large, 6 points
Shanks: short and stout
Toes: 5 on each foot, front and fifth toe moderately long and smooth, fifth toe well separated from 4th and directly above it , rising in an upward curve from from base to tip. (Yes, That fifth toe curves upward!)

so, overall it does appear that he is quite similar to a SGD, but some variations away from the standard.

We have some Red Dorkings. They are pretty!!
