Hi. This boy is 6 months old today. He was hatched from eggs we received with no information regarding his breed. He has a rather large body, bigger than our 3 year old Buff Oprington rooster. I've searched the web and think it may be a mix?

He likely has some Cochin in him. The LF Cochin are really big birds and they have tail feathers that curl under like yours does.

Thanks for the replies. Could it be a Buff Oprington x Black Oprington mix? I just looked at some images and the hen hatched from the same batch looks a lot like a buff-black mix.

agree with @Gray Farms... the white legs, and lack of feathered legs tells me there's no cochin in this guy, unless its very far back in his lineage.

You know what, y'all are probably right. I didn't even notice the lack of leg feathering before. I have two Cochin mixes whose other parents are clean-legged birds, and they both inherited the leg feathers from the Cochin. It seems to be a dominant trait.

Do you have a picture that is a little less blurry?

Orpington color cross. I agree with @Gray Farms, he could be buff x gold laced.
