Male black sex link chicks look different than female BSL chicks, that’s how you know they’re sex links.

No, as the female must have the barred gene, and the male has to be non barred to make sexlinks.

I'm kind of confused about the breed of our rooster. He started out looking like a blue gray chick with a light spot on his head, and now looks just like a Barred Rock. I know that BR chicks are black with a white spot on his head. What could he be? His feathers are definitely barred though. Perhaps a Plymouth Blue Rock? What do you all think?

Looks like a Orpington/Barred Rock to me.

He’s black barred with leakage, bielefelders are barred gold duckwing.
