Hello
smile.png

We adopted Nutmeg over 6 months ago and we just put her breed down to 'Isa Brown'.
But today I was looking at her feathers and I thought to myself, hang on a sec, she has the body structure of an Isa Brown, but not the feathering.
I started looking at the chicken breeds on this website and found the closest one to it, Barnevelder.
They have a tip all around the feather, Nutmeg has a line down the middle, and then the colour all around the edge.
I hope you can see her feathers in this picture, if not I'll have to catch her and take a few photos.

She's most likely a cross.. But with what?

To me she looks like what you SHOULD get if you crossed a welsummer with a partridge rock. I know it doesn't work that way, but she looks to me like a Wellie with partridge lacing.

Any chicken can be "partridge" in color. Their breed is determined by their body shape/structure.

Examples for this are breeds like Silkies, Seramas, Welsummers, Plymouth Rocks etc. but all of them have different body types.
