You're welcome! I'm a total mail order chick convert, I was SO nervous to ship animals alive through the mail but the U.S. post office has been mailing chickens for over a hundred years so obviously they've got some kind of a stable system going on for the most part, lol.

I've heard more less stories of DOA and deformed babies.

Shipping chicks is easy and I have never had issues. .. Other than some weird looks from postal clerks and customers when all you can hear in the lobby is CHEEP! CHEEP! CHEEP! when you go to pick them up. Hatching eggs on the other hand is a gamble at best.

I got her from Meyer hatchery! She was a $2 bin chick in their store. We are a little over an hour from them and picked up. We also got a blue Amercuana for $2.

I can't find fancy breeds around here and afraid to mail order.

Beautiful but I don't think she's a bantam? She's the same size as the others but they did have bantam chicks mixed in the bin.

They were guaranteed all girls. We order chicks and picked more when we got in the store. $36 for 12 total.

Kind of looks like an older version of my silver spangled hamburg. Was she a gray/yellow fluff mix with black markings on her back as a baby?
