She looks alot like my Red Sex Link, Firecracker, who I thought was a RIR too. The white on the feathers is the give away apparently...

Firecracker is on the right

Yeppers, congrats you have a red sex-link! They tend to lay bigger eggs than RIR, and are much quieter birds. They are very sweet, and lay oodles of eggs! You'll love her.

WHAAA???? Firecracker is a nut job. She practically pecked my eye out one day when I was kneeling down to talk with them. All of a sudden....WHACK!!....right under my eye. I had a welt and a red spot for a week she hit me so hard. She certainly is the most curious and brave of them all and yes, much quieter than the New Hampshire. Certainly a favorite though

Yes, she is a red sex link. I've got two and they are super sweet birds. Mine lay a HUGE brown egg nearly every day and have not gone broody. Their eggs are so large I can't even shut the egg cartons.

My Red Stars will peck anything. My fingers, toes, rings. It is a weird feeling to have grass seeds pecked off your legs by 4 chickens.

They have good personalities. Mine are steady layers. Egg a day each at 7 months old. Started laying at 16-17 weeks.
