What breed is she? **Updated with Pic & Video on Pg2**

I had planned on getting some BSW, but they turned out to be mixes

so they are going in the freezer soon. The reason I chose those over the midgets is so my kids could show them at fair and we would still have a nice bird for the freezer. Our fair only allows APA breeds.

However, now my oldest daughter has only one more year, the 10 year old doesn't care for poultry at all, he likes rabbits, and the 6 year old has 3 years before she can show turkeys (cloverbuds can't) and right now the toms scare her. So, not sure where I will decide to go yet.

So it still could be a Tom? I guess I will hold off on getting a mate for "her" then! If I am walking around the yard and she is near me, about 3/4 of the time she will fall down into "breeding position", that's what she was doing when i got the pictures. She drops down to the ground and moves her wings to the sides/ground too... She has done it since the first day i brought her home. She was sold as a hen too but it won't hurt to wait and see... she seems pretty content following a couple of my Muscovy hens around.

There is a breeder south of me that has Beltsville(i posted a wanted:tom ad on CL), he said it looks like she might be that breed but maybe she has more growing to do...

I just went out and got a picture of "her" and a video so you guys can see what i mean about "her" falling into position when i get anywhere near "her".

How old are they when they start to "gobble"? I bought my old Tom when he was 4 months old and he was doing it already.

Can you weigh him? The turkey I posted picture of is 10 weeks old. I think yours might be younger. My first thought was about 8 weeks. It just does not look very mature. Anyone else have a guess?

I had to pick "her" up & move her to the yard and she weighs probably around 8-9lbs.... a little more than a gallon jug of water (only thing i can think to compare to, sorry). I don't have a scale for the birds
