What breed is she??

My duck was sold to me as a cayuga, she’s about a year old. But she’s super brown
I have 10 cayuga ducks (her included) the other 9 are black black, with the greens and blues, but she has a little green and is really brown compared to black, is she cayuga or is she a cross???

Also! Her eggs are super white compared to typical cayuga eggs she’s also a lot smaller than my other cayugas

She looked like that when I got her, and she’s had the same amount of sun and shade as my other ducks would that also possibly explain why her feathers feel gross, dry rough dirty feeling even after being in water

Some times black gets tanned by the sun. Happens with rabbits usually, but I don't see why it couldn't happen to a bird

Looks like she needs a good molt.

She just molted a bunch, was broody, and then molted a ton. And now looks the same

Shouldn’t that change after molting that she just did

Alot of black ducks get sun-bleached.

If she just molted then that is just her.

Hmm. She may have something different mixed in her bloodline somewhere. Now the appearance of white feathers after a molt is normal.
Or I suppose there's a standard for the Cayuga like anything else and perhaps she's just not as standard as some others.
I have heard some lines lay more black eggs than others, mine only lay one or two really dark eggs when they first start laying again and that fades to a light gray, then the rest will be a creamy white until they stop laying and start up again.

Her flight feathers are awful ratty looking if she just molted and got new ones. is she beating her wings up against something?
